Annually we hold the Gator Fly In and Armed Services Appreciation Day here on the University Air Center Ramp. We have Military aircraft, civilian aircraft, helicopter and airplane rides, vendors, food trucks, classic cars, music and much more.

Join Newberry Main Street Organization for our annual Spring Festival, a cherished community tradition featuring vendors, food, entertainment, and activities for all ages — with special historical experiences added this year.

In recognition of the 250th Celebration of the United States of America, the City of Newberry will host historical and educational experiences during the morning portion of the festival, including:
Battle reenactments from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
A colonial village available throughout the entire festival
Opportunities to meet British soldiers as they move through the festival grounds

The Downtown BBQ Showdown Cook-Off is a sanctioned Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) professional contest. Cook teams compete in the four KCBS meat categories: chicken, pork ribs, pork, and beef brisket. There will also be Arts and Craft Vendors and Food Trucks. We will also have a Pie Contest and Friday Night Rib Contest.
